Discord allows you to have a look at how it handles your Privacy & Data and you can change the Data Privacy Control as you wish. By doing so, you will be assured of how your data is handled and you can also change the way how Discord handles your data.

How to check Discord Data Privacy Controls?

To check your Data Privacy Control, follow these steps.

Launch Discord App.
Go to User Settings > Privacy and Safety.

Here you can enable or disable certain options that will allow/disallow Discord to track your data.

If you turn off this option then discord will no longer be able to track;

How you use and interact with Discord
How you navigate Discord outside of essential data necessary to provide the service

If you disable this setting then your Discord account will no longer be eligible for feature experiments that are used in testing. Furthermore, it will also prevent Discord to automatically improve your voice quality based on your usage.

After turning off this setting, all the previously collected will be anonymized and discarded.

Personalization Data

This data is used to make the Discord experience better for you. This is used by Discord to update and maintain the Games Tab.

If you turn off this setting, then you will lose access to features like personalized recommendations and suggestions.

How to add your bot to servers?

If you want to add bots to servers you first need to create a bot, which we showed in the previous article. If you follow those steps you can easily create a bot.

Before you are actually able to see your bot in your own or other servers, it needs to be added using a special invite link that can be created using your bot application’s client ID.

Invite Links

Here is an sample invite link:

“https://discordapp.com/oauth2/authorize?client_id=123456789012345678&scope=bot”

You need to understand the structure of this link.

The first part of this link is Discord’s standard structure for authorizing an OAuth2 application for entry to a Discord server.
The second part that says “client_id=” is used to specify which application you want to authorize. You have to replace this part with your client’s ID in order to create a valid invite link.
The third part which says “scope=bot” specifies that you want to add this application as a Discord bot.

How to create and use your own invite link?

You have to replace the client_id parameter with your client’s ID in order to produce your invite link as mentioned above in the points.

In order to find your App’s ID, navigate back to “My Apps” page under the “Applications” section once again and click on your bot application.

Enter your app’s ID into the link template and then access it in your browser.

Then, you have to select the server you want to add it to and click on the “Authorize” button. It should be kept in mind that you are going to need the “Manage Server” permission on a server in order to be able to add your bot there. This should then present you a confirmation message.

Now you have completed the process of adding your bot to your Discord server. It should show up in your server’s member list somewhat like this.

For this reason, Discord has a simple and straightforward Refund Policy. So, if you don’t like any of the games that you purchased through Discord then you can always get a refund if you meet the Discord Refund Policy

The refund policy is really easy and as long as you meet the criteria for refund policy, you will be able to get the refund. You are eligible for the refund if:

The game is purchased in the last 14 days.
The game has less than two hours of total playing time.

As long as your newly purchased game follow this policy, you will be provided a refund when requested.

For Downloadable Content and In-App Purchases, Refunds or Exchanges are not available!

Gifts Refund Policy

Discord won’t provide a refund for a gift purchase that has been claimed.

However, if a gift is unclaimed then you can ask for a refund within 14 days.

For Nitro gifts, you will have 5 days from the initial purchase date.

Discord also provides refunds for Nitro subscriptions if the refund request is made within 5 days of the initial date of subscription.

What is Slowmode and how to set it up?

It can be pretty exciting to find out that your Discord channel is active and a lot of people are taking part in the discussion. However, sometimes you may want to give some chill to your channel and for that, there is a special mode available called the Slowmode.

When you enable the Slowmode on your channel, then it will limit the number of messages that a user can send in a channel based on a timed cooldown.

Discord Slowmode And you also have the option to customize the time limit anywhere from 5 seconds to two minutes.

However, you should know that this feature is only available within an individual channel. You can’t apply this feature on a server basis.

How to set up Slowmode feature?

To set up the slowmode feature, follow these steps:

Head over to your Channel Settings by clicking on the cog icon to Edit Channel > Overview.
You will see the Slowmode option there along with a slider next to it from where you can adjust the time interval between the messages.
By default, the Slowmode feature is off, but you can turn it on by moving the slider next to it in order to turn on this feature.
You will need at least Manage Channel permission to enable this feature.

This restriction feature will not be applied to you if you have the Manage Channel, Manage Messages, Administrator Permission, or you are the Owner of the server.

Indications

If a user is restricted by this feature, then there is a clear cut indication that the user is currently being restricted and how much he will have to wait in order to send the next message. Slowmode iOS

As you may know that Discord is perfect for chatting with team members, seeing who is playing online and catching up on text conversations you may have missed. Discord makes it easier for games to chat and communicate with each other and for that, you need a server.

You can always join a server if you have the invite code or URL, but you also get the option to create your server anytime and invite your friends to that server.

Creating a Discord server is easy and doesn’t require you to do much. Just a few clicks and taps and you have successfully created your Discord Server.

How to create a Discord Server?

To create a Discord Server, follow these steps:

Open your web browser and head over to “https://discordapp.com/“ or Open the Discord App.
Login into your account.
Once logged in, click on the “+” icon on the left column of the screen.
A window will appear with two options on the screen. “Create” and “Join”.
Click on Create to continue the process.
Enter in the Server information including Server Name, and its icon by locating it in your files. (The minimum size for icons is 128×128. Icons must be in multiples of 128 such as 256 x 256, 512 x 512)
You can also select the region of the server. Currently, there are over 10 different regions to choose from including the US, EU, Brazil, Australia, and Singapore.
After you have specified the information for the server, click on “Create”.
